Description: The proposed initiative would convert its static listening venue to a fully equipped, welcoming venue for the community through targeted technology and infrastructure upgrades to its gathering space.

Initiative Name: ReadingPals and Storytimers

Description: The proposed initiative would strengthen early literacy and school readiness in underserved communities in Manatee County with the addition of family engagement kits and take-home books for the current program for 4-year olds and adding engaging, story-based literacy sessions for 3-year olds.

Initiative NameSafeguarding our Youth - See The Signs

Description: The proposed initiative would raise detection skills for middle school and high school students about the red flags of unhealthy relationships that can lead to trafficking with the addition of a new Prevention Advocate for Sarasota and an age-appropriate video to show in classrooms.

Initiative Name: Suncoast Community-Led Oyster Reef Revival

Description: The proposed initiative would accelerate the restoration effort to revive the important oyster habitat and improve water quality in the Manatee River with the purchase of a cargo trailer, a skiff boat and a pickup truck.

Initiative Name: Wings of Hope: Pelican Initiative 

Description: The proposed initiative would increase the number of birds that can be rehabilitated and ideally returned to their natural habitat with the reconstruction of a hurricane-damaged 20’ x 50’ flight pen enclosure and the addition of an identically-sized structure using stronger materials.

Description: The proposed initiative would help members and their families create personalized plans for independent living, employment, finances, legal needs, special needs trusts, and housing when their caregivers can no longer provide support by funding a Family Care Coordinator.

Description: The proposed initiative would strengthen volunteer engagement and help children recover from the trauma of abuse and neglect with comfort, trust, and healing by funding a Volunteer Coordinator and introducing a therapy dog program.

Description: The proposed initiative would support individuals from Sarasota County who are exiting incarceration, detox, treatment programs, or homelessness, significantly improving the outcome for those at the highest risk of relapse or instability by providing immediate housing and essential recovery support.
